I thought the magic inside me had died. ✦
A downloadable game
In your early teens, a power awakened within you, a power to transform into a shining hero of justice and send away monsters and evil doers in the night with the power of your magical secret identity. It was to be a power you never used. A conflict between good and evil never emerged, and the power lay within you untapped. Your life droned on, and eventually it started to seem like something you’d made up, a faint memory of visitations from a plane beyond the normal, vividly sticking out in your memory like a fiction imagined to defend your ego from the realization that you’re just as ordinary as everyone else. Your twenties are blowing past like a plastic bag flapping down an empty street in a nothing suburb’s lukewarm afternoon. But was it really all just fantasy?
I thought the magic inside me had died is a monster-of-the-week post-magical-girl action game about growing up as a late-bloomer, and the awkward dialogue between who we thought we were going to be when we were young, and who we eventually become as adults. It uses magical transformation and exciting battles between good and evil to explore the way our personalities and relationships evolve as we face the transition into adulthood.
